Jeremy Hellickson, of the Tampa Bay Rays won the Baseball America Rookie of the Year in 2011. This is well deserving for Jeremy, he had a fantastic season this year. Jeremy's numbers this year were, 13-10 with an 2.95 ERA, He had 2 complete games and 1 complete game shut out. He pitched 189 IP with 117 Strike outs.
Jeremy pitched fantastic almost all year long, he had a few tough games but he started 29 games and 20 of his starts were quality starts. Jeremy was involved in a great starting rotation that had James Shields & David Price in it. Jeremy Hellickson pitched good enough to be the number one starter, but in a tough rotation he acted as the number 3.
I remember when Jeremy pitched against the Twins earlier this year and he was straight up nasty, he has good control and stays calm on the mound. He is a nice and young solid pitcher. Congratulations on a fantastic season Jeremy and good luck next year!
