I have no idea where all the time went again. Life has been crazy for me over the last few months and I haven't blogged about baseball all season, that's crazy. I want to start off by saying, as a Twins fan, it's been another tough season but there are a lot of highlights that make me excited for the future. One of them being former shortstop Danny Santana, who has been playing much of his time in the outfield since the Twins currently don't have a center fielder. He has been a joy to watch and has given us all hope for the future for the Minnesota Twins.
Another highlight is Brian Dozier. He has continued to be a fan favorite in Minnesota, deserving so. He has been a reliable second basemen for us and continuously makes incredible plays that make your jaw drop. He has also provided us with wonderful offense and speed. Through August 2nd he has 19 home runs and 17 stolen bases. Definitely a possibility to have a 20/20 season this year.
As far as other baseball teams go, I've been trying to keep up. I'm completely impressed with the amazing things that the Oakland Athletics Organization is doing. Getting Jon Lester at the trade deadline only made them better. They have definitely been my biggest surprise other than the fact that Texas is struggling. It has been years since the Rangers haven't been a competitive team.
Obviously you know my love for David Price and I wasn't surprised that he was traded but I was disappointed. The Rays have been an amazing organization and he has been an amazing player for them on the field and an amazing human being for them off the field. I'm disappointed that he was traded to a division rival for the Minnesota Twins, the Detroit Tigers. However, I"m also excited that he was traded to a team that comes to Target Field much more often than the Rays. I was so blessed to have seen David play at Target Field in July when he was still with the Rays and I'm hoping that I am able to see him play at the end of August when the Tigers come in town for a 4 game series.
Lets hope that I am able to blog some more before the season is over.
